My Lovebug...

Ok ok- I know I have been sketch for a few days.
So sorry.

With all my vast free time this week, it is beginning to dawn on me I'm getting older and now in a weird, grownup place.

What I am trying to say is that with ALL of my super-stealth, Face-stalking Facebooking skills, I now see that a huge portion of people I grew up with, are married and working on their 2.5 allotted children.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE sweet babes and little ones. I love peeking at sweet family portraits. Really, I do. However, it's sometimes odd to see your carpool buddy, 10th grade English project group member, or prom date with a mini-me.
I mean, really?? THAT guy now has a kid??

I digress.

So, until that time comes, (Lord willing) I thought I would proudly show off MY lovebug, too!

Isn't he wonderful!
What you are looking at is my 20+year old sourdough bread starter. A dear, dear friend from college, Katie, so sweetly gave me a portion of her mom's starter shortly after Brenon and I got married. I have been feeding it, watering it, and changing it ever since!

HaHa- he is growing up to be soo big!

Luck o' the Irish

Luck o' the Irish

St. Patrick's Day is coming up soon. Here's what I am hoping to find in my box of Lucky Charms.. I'm not sure if this looks promising, though??

New Wreaf--Updated

Remember this post? I've been on the hunt for a new front door wreath for awhile, but I finally just broken down and made one, until I find what I am looking for.

I saw a couple of variations in magazines and online, but wanted something a little plainer. This is a versatile project on the cheap. Use any kinda fabric you might have. I had some leftover burlap so I went to work.

Gather up your supplies- you'll need 1-1 1/2 of fabric, and a wire coat hanger. Maybe extra fabric for a bow??
Go ahead and un-twist your coat hanger and bend into a circle like shape.
Next, lay your fabric out flat and cut long strips. Your strips should be 3-4in wide. Don't worry about measuring- just eyeball it.
Take a strip and thread on your coat hanger. Twist and turn it, creating those big loops. Keep on threading until you run out- and then just repeat with another strip.
When you are finished, kinda wrap the ends of the coat hanger to form a loop.
Ta-Da!
I have found you might want to add a little hot glue to stabilize your fabric in between your loops as they have a tendency to slide down.

I was going to put a bow- but I like the simplicity and texture of the burlap.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner..

Woot woot!
I won received an award!

The award comes with a few rules.  No worries, nothing too crazy.

1. You must link back to the person who gave you the award to let them know you accept.
A special thanks to a sweet childhood friend! Check out their sweet blog:
She has such wonderful home ideas. Like a-ma-zing.
2. You must share 7 things about yourself; and

3. Pass the award on to 10 recently discovered bloggers and let them know about the award.
Now without further ado, here are seven awesome things you may or may not have known about me.

1. I almost lost the tip of my pinkie in the 1st grade.
2. I have two brothers named Drew (one is a brother in-law, if you wanna get technical).
3. I've never had a PBJ sandwich before.
4. I played the viola ( a little bit bigger violin) for 6 years. Even dorkier, sometimes Brenon and I debate  "Which is Better: band or orchestra".
5. I took Scuba Diving in college and did so horribly they had to assign a teacher with me at all times. I barely passed.
6. I LOVE to cook - bells and whistles included, however I have a co-dependent relationship with fast food, that might need an intervention.
7. Dorky fact: You know when you go to look a word up in a dictionary and see that funny, squiggly, phonetic pronunciation next to YOUR word? I'm fluent and can transcribe anything you say into those symbols. No really, true story.

Here are a few of my latest favorite reads:

Thanks to all of you- I love catching up with all of your ideas and thoughts!

Giving it Up..

Howdy-doo, howdy-doo! Hope you are well. I'm home today with some virus junk. Blah.

When not in my cold-medicine induced cat naps, I have been thinking of today- Ash Wednesday. While I was not raised Catholic, my college friends and I participated by "giving up" something for fun. It was always something silly or goofy. I thought I would I share this year's.. and I have even whipped up a nifty diagram for YOU(ok- I found the time between Divorce Court and Dr. Phil).
I give you MY latest version of the food pyramid.  So obviously, I've developed this little taste-a-roo for processed stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if my gall bladder is in overdrive! So, until Easter I am going to TRY to cut out some of this junk and actually eat a little better. TRY is the key word.
If you see me, check on me. I'm gonna be the one with hand tremors because I haven't had a Dew and a cheese stick!
