Back.. and With Birchboxes

Well, that was a bit of a break. An unintended 19 day lull to be exact. But I'm back, and yes, still here. How are all of you? Yes, yes, I know,  we should catch up soon. I've missed you. To make-up for my laziness and lack of creativity ahem, absence, I come, bearing gifts to you all.

Well, really just to me.

Since I'm so behind, you friends are getting not one, but TWO Birchboxes today. I completely forgot about my April box until my May box came in the mail. Whoopsie.

Here's the April box. It's kinda feels like one part organic/green living and one part Hawaiian tropics.

And here's the May box. Immediate glitz when I opened the mailer.

Do you watch Gossip Girls? I don't. I just can't get into any CW shows. From what I gather its rich girls in NY who wear uber expensive outfits trying to date one another? Not sure....

Anywhoo..

These little gifts are fun to get in the mail, BUT I can't use them fast enough. Fun and girly, but unpractical. I almost feel silly wearing the $65 dollar perfume sample that smells like cat pee, just for the sake of not wasting it. What's a girl to do?

 All in all, this was a pretty good box. I'm pretty excited to try everything out, especially the Curl Cream. My mane is naturally curly and it seems as if I've tried everything for it. Was your Birchbox any different?

February Birchbox.. Late

I've had my Feb. Birchbox for a month now, but have forgotten to post about it. This month was just kinda.... ok, nothing too special. And honestly, I haven't tried any of it yet.

Another Great Box!

LOVE the pink lipgloss, and the perfume smells ok, too.

 I think I'm most excited about the Benefit Porefessional cream, even though large pores are not a big problem of mine. Do you use Benefit Cosmetics? I love the brand, as my make-up is half Benefit/half Clinique.

My little-bloggy turned one... uhhh a few days ago. A whole year of writing and rants- I still can't believe it's been that long. I've had fun writing, thus far, and am glad I've stuck with it. High five for dedication!  A special thanks to you for reading- and giving back your humorous feedback!

I know.

Scrooge just can't seem to get it together.

I love looking at everyone else's beautiful trees, ornaments, menorahs, snowmen and such.

And usually, I am all over it. But, alas, we are bare over here.

I'm not sure what it is, it feels like I am waiting on something??

Perhaps I'll try to work on it this weekend.. Perhaps...

* Mrs. Lindsey, I wear an 18-20 in pants now. I am a real grown-up boy. What size do you wear?

* Mrs. Lindsey, I know what sound a peacock makes.. (Ummmm, what then??)

My favorite:

 A group of older kids were working on inferencing. I read the prompt:

"We all got down the board. Mary rolled the dice. Janet collected two rental properties. Dave passed GO and collected $200"

I asked them: a) what were they doing, and b) what key words help you to know

One boy wipes his brow, nervously looking at his teammates. With a whisper, he answers:

"Gambling??"

Lookie what came in the mail for me!

The November Birchbox, and my first one ever. A few weeks ago I signed up to receive this little nifty monthly present. When I staggered home from school today, Mr. Postman had my surprise ready for me!

Drum roll, please...



So, if you can't read the card, I received:

Ok, so I am pretty excited, except for that they didn't include the ponytail wraps. No biggie, since I have trillions of them anyway. But the other stuff? Right up my ally!

Birchbox Bandwagon

I'll let you in on a little secret.

I take a quiet pride in the fact that I am fiercely independent. I march to my own beat. A doer and a thinker. Not easily influenced.

 It's also a flaw.

However, if you give me ANY sort of beauty product review, feedback on a product, persuasive story, samples - Bam!

Total Sucker.

I will fall for it every time.

AND buy two.

SO that's why after TONS of consideration I am joining Birchbox. Eeee! So excited!

What it a Birchbox? A samples lover's paradise. Fun stuff without the guilt.

Essentially, it's a pre-selected box of high-end beauty samples that comes right to your door, EVERY month, for $10. Kinda like a magazine subscription, that you can cancel at any time. You fill out a brief beauty survey, they pick out items for you, and it's mailed to your hot little hands.

Yes, I realize this is sounding like an info-mercial. It's not. I won't be getting Ginsu knives and a free Snuggie with my purchase. I've seen a few friends with their Birboxes, and the packages always look so lovely. Girly and lovely.

So lovely, in fact, I am nabbing the picture off the website for you to see.

These are just some the types of products you could possibly get. I think you get 4-5 a month, and even can get full size bottles.
