To Boot or Not to Boot...

To boot or not to boot.
Specifically, the Steve Madden Intyce-cognac.
That is the question.

It seems like EVERYONE and their momma has a pair. I see them everywhere. With dresses. With pants. With skirts. With skinnies.
So naturally, I've kept my eye on them.
Literally.
Did I spend the second half of a college football game last year, head down, counting pairs seen, to pass the time?
Maybe.
But that is beside the point.
But gosh dern, they are just too cute.

My only reservation?
The " not-so-savvy"  $149.00 price tag.
(Feel free to insert long, low whistle)

I know, right?
I don't think I've ever spent that much on one thing, unless it was furniture to re-paint.
Would you go for them? Intyce-boot "wear-ers", have your boots "held up" and have they maintained their loveliness?

omg the flat brown boot hunt has been driving me insane for years but I can't see myself spending more than $100, even for leather.

There will def be a sale on those soon. They're really cute. Only thing I worry about is the wedge heel getting scuffed up.

Super cute though!

Hey! I read your blog but have never commented before. I am a speech-language pathologist too (I work in an elementary school in KY) so I love reading the things you say about work!

Anyway-I have these boots and I like them a lot. I managed to find a new pair on eBay (for 119.00), so you may want to try there to save a little money. I also have three pairs of Frye Paige Tall Riding Boots that I absolutely adore because the heel/sole is completely flat, unlike the Intyce which has that wedge. That wedge has managed to trip me up several times going up and down the hallways. The Fryes are defintely more expensive but they are a good investment piece if you are looking for boots that will stay in style forever! Good luck on the boot search. If you buy the Intyces you won't regret it!

i got my pair from there last year for around a little over 100. I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!! Seriously, the more you wear them the better they look. I was so happy I finally splurged and got them. I can't wait to break them out this fall:)

Lindsey -- I totally have these boots & they are worth the hefty price tag. Although I bought them last year for $129. But definitely worth the money :)

I just can't wear boots, especially not with that price tag. Good luck finding a deal!

Lindsey, I was deciding whether or not to buy the Intyce boots for a LONG time and read through Amazon reviews. In my opinion, the Intyce boots looked sleek, but the calf was huge on me which is one of the reasons I decided not to get them, and I don't think I have very thin calves. I was gonna get them on Amazon but I read some reviews saying that the in-store vs. Amazon pairs aren't exactly the same, as well as the quality of the leather feeling thin and inexpensive. The other reason I didn't get Intyce pair was that once I went to Macy's "just to see" and felt the other leather boots in the same price range as the Intyce boots, I personally felt a huge difference in quality. I bought a Dolce Vita pair (posted on my blog today) which was actually $20 less, but they feel sturdier, more durable, and like higher quality leather. I know tons of people who have the Intyce boots and I do think they look sleek as long as your calves aren't swimming in them, but I personally don't think they compare to other boots in their price range. Just throwing in my two cents. :)

I did a search for "cognac boots" and your blog came up! I'm sure you've bought a pair by now, but I just bought a pair this weekend from Nordstrom's which I love. It's the BP Runway boot and so comfortable with the slight wedge heel. Plus, they're a little bit cheaper. I definitely recommend them.

(PS I'm going to graduate in May with my master's in Speech Pathology. It's always nice to see a fellow Speechie blog!)
